Dark Passenger, a Polish game development firm, has recently garnered a substantial $3 million in investment funding. Established by experienced members who previously worked at CD Projekt, the company accepted this significant financial boost, primarily driven by The Games Fund and with contributions from Blite Fund. This investment will support the creation of Dark Passenger’s debut game—a multiplayer stealth action adventure set in the rich historical backdrop of feudal Japan.
Jakub Ben, the CEO of Dark Passenger, expressed his enthusiasm about the current state of multiplayer gaming, describing it as more thrilling than it has ever been. He believes there’s still a lot of untapped potential in the field. “Imagination, trust, and a clear vision are critical to truly grasp our strategic direction,” he commented. “These qualities were precisely what we discovered in The Games Fund.”
Jakub also highlighted the transformative nature of this investment for his team. “This financial support has been a game-changer for us. It’s not only helped us grow our team but also provided a solid foundation for our project, letting us focus on production.”
Ilia Eremeev, one of the founders of The Games Fund, shared his perspective on the partnership. “There’s a noticeable lack of games that aren’t afraid to push boundaries and offer players that thrilling, ‘Hell yeah!’ moment. Once we witnessed their initial demo, it was clear that Dark Passenger was stepping up to deliver just that.”
He went on to praise the impressive quality of the experience created by such a small team in a limited timeframe. “We were in complete synch with their vision—an invigorating, pure power fantasy. It’s an exciting journey to partner with these talented founders on this venture.”
