Intel’s innovative XeSS 1 technology has broken ground in the gaming world, now featured in over 150 games, with even more to come, and while XeSS 2 is still in its infancy, the support base is growing.
When Intel launched its first generation of the Arc Alchemist GPUs, it made a notable entrance by rolling out its super-sampling solution. Although more than two years have passed since the initial release of XeSS, it has seen significant advancements, culminating in today’s XeSS 2 version.
XeSS 2 might not have widespread adoption yet, but the original and its subsequent updates are now embedded in a significant number of games. Intel is confidently announcing the extension of XeSS support to over 150 games and is setting the stage for more to join this lineup soon.
For those keen on exploring which games are utilizing XeSS, the list is both extensive and filled with well-known triple-A titles. Despite this progress, XeSS still faces stiff competition from AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS.
Sharing their milestone via Twitter, Intel Gaming proudly states, “We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with XeSS support, with more on the way! Experience peak gaming for yourself with Intel XeSS AI upscaling today.”
Intel is determined to make headway against its competitors. However, it’s crucial to highlight that the bulk of these games only incorporate XeSS 1 and its updates. XeSS 2, on the other hand, remains a rare feature, currently supported only by F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals. This is set to change as future titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3, are expected to support the latest XeSS 2 advancements.
In addition to this, there’s a selection of games offering Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, although its reach is less extensive compared to FSR and DLSS equivalents. It’s important to note that both XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are tailored for Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs. At present, the series features the Arc B580 and Arc B570 models, though they suffer from limited availability.
