Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is gearing up for its big release on PC and consoles come February 11th. But there’s something exciting in store for VR enthusiasts too; Firaxis and 2K Games have announced that a special version of the game will be available on Quest this Spring.
This Quest-exclusive edition has been specially crafted for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, offering players a unique experience where you can build your empire from a first-person viewpoint. The game is designed to let you overlook your growing civilization with the immersive capabilities of both VR and MR modes.
The VR adaptation, handled by PlaySide Studios and published by 2K, is set to deliver the full Civilization experience with a twist. You can expect to dive into enthralling solo gameplay or engage in online multiplayer matches with up to three fellow Quest 3 and 3S users.
Additionally, the game’s iconic world leaders will feel more real than ever before. You’ll come face-to-face with these historical figures, witnessing their reactions firsthand as you engage in diplomacy or warfare.
While we don’t have a specific release date yet, 2K Games has assured fans that we can expect this version to land sometime in Spring 2025, as mentioned during the Civ World Summit event this past weekend.
Eager fans can already add Civilization VII – VR to their wishlist on the Horizon Store for Quest 3 and Quest 3S, ensuring they’re ready to step into this exciting new world at launch.
