Bigscreen has just kicked off sales for their latest headset, the Beyond 2 PC VR, which comes with a fresh pancake lens design that significantly enhances field-of-view and image clarity. Excitingly, within just 10 hours of opening sales, Beyond 2 has already surpassed the sales figures of its predecessor, the original Beyond, by a large margin.
Through a sequence of updates via X, Bigscreen shared the enthusiastic reception Beyond 2 has received from the PC VR crowd. “In the initial 25 minutes alone, Beyond 2 sales had already eclipsed the entire first day sales of Beyond 1. Within the first hour, sales figures were twice what we saw on Beyond 1’s launch day,” Bigscreen announced with enthusiasm.
As the day went on, they continued to share more insights into the sales performance of both the standard Beyond 2 and the eye-tracking variant, Beyond 2e. The most recent numbers are particularly eye-opening. “In just 10 hours since launch, Beyond 2 has achieved more sales than Beyond 1 did in its first four months.”
With Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e’s shipment dates now scheduled for June 2025, it’s clear that they’ve blitzed through their first batch allocations, originally slated for April and May.
So, what’s driving all this excitement for Beyond 2? While you can dig into the technical details of Beyond 2 elsewhere, a big draw is likely Bigscreen’s seamless upgrade offer. Owners of Beyond 1 can upgrade at a discounted price—$849 for the Beyond 2 and $1049 for the Beyond 2e. Plus, it’s conveniently compatible with a lot of Beyond 1 accessories, such as its specifically designed facial interface.
Beyond 2 itself introduces a brand new pancake lens design, providing users with a wider 116-degree diagonal field-of-view and an adjustable IPD mechanism, while maintaining a light 107g form. The 2e model steps it up with AI-powered eye-tracking capabilities. It carries over the same dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from the original Beyond, but the updated lenses promise even better clarity and an enhanced field of view.
With a price tag of $1,019 for Beyond 2 and $1,219 for the 2e (with discounts for Beyond 1 owners), these devices also come alongside a fresh halo-style mount and a new Lightblocker facial interface, which are expected to be released in Q3 2025.
For anyone interested, these can all be ordered directly from the Bigscreen website.
