A dedicated Minecraft enthusiast has transformed the virtual world of the Happy Ghast and Ghastling into tangible, delightful LEGO creations, revealed during the much-anticipated Minecraft Live 2025 event. While the presentation was packed with exciting future updates for the game, the unveiling of these endearing characters stood out as a particular highlight.

At the event, Mojang rolled out details for two major updates planned for the year. One of the stars was a new block, known as the Dried Ghast, which introduces a creative twist to the typically intimidating Ghast from the Nether. Players can enrich their gameplay by transporting this block back to the Overworld. There, the Dried Ghast can be hydrated to form a Ghastling, a friendlier creature that eventually matures into a Happy Ghast. Not only are these creatures adorable, but they also serve as rideable companions, offering players a whimsical way to explore and build in Survival mode.

Amid the anticipation for these new game features, a Reddit user going by Cowalla1 decided to capture the charm of the Happy Ghast and Ghastling with custom LEGO sets. Sharing their inventive designs on Reddit’s Minecraft subreddit, they sparked the community’s imagination about the possibility of an official merchandise line. The LEGOs artistically mirrored the pixelated appearance of their digital counterparts. While Cowalla1 adapted the base structure from Cheesey Studios’ Ghast design, they distinctly contributed by designing the harness, goggles, and crafting the Ghastling from scratch.

The creation of the LEGO Ghastling posed its own set of challenges. Its petite size demanded precise detailing to authentically represent its in-game look. Since Cowalla1’s Reddit unveiling, the post has accumulated over 5.6K upvotes, drawing widespread admiration from fans for their intricate craftsmanship and quick execution. Most notably, the goggles, which can be attached or removed from the Happy Ghast, were a fan favorite. In response to the community’s enthusiasm, Cowalla1 announced plans to release building instructions, pending approval on the Rebrickable platform.

These LEGO interpretations reflect the building excitement for what lies ahead in Minecraft’s ever-evolving universe. Although there’s still some waiting to do before the Happy Ghast and Ghastling officially join the game in the latter half of the year, players won’t have to wait long to get a glimpse of these mobs in the game’s testing phases.
