We’ve finally got a confirmed date for when Switch 2 preorders will be available in the United States, following a couple of weeks filled with discussions about tariffs.
Today, Nintendo announced through a press release that you can start preordering the Switch 2 on April 24, which is a Thursday. As of now, the pricing is set at $449.99 for the standalone system and $499.99 if you want to bundle it with Mario Kart World digitally.
However, keep in mind that due to the ever-changing situation, some accessory prices have seen a bump. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is now priced at a US MSRP of $84.99, and a set of Switch 2 Joy-Cons will cost you $94.99, both reflecting a $5 increase. If you’re thinking about getting a second dock set, that’s gone up by $10, now totaling $119.99. Additionally, extra straps for the Joy-Cons are now $13.99, marking a $1 increase, and various other accessories have also seen a $5 rise. You’ll find a complete list of hardware MSRPs, as well as the latest pricing details for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, included within this article.
For our neighbors to the north, Canadian preorder details will likely also begin on the same day. However, due to a national holiday, that confirmation might not come through today. Nevertheless, Nintendo of Canada has verified the date and the Canadian pricing details as well, even if retailers haven’t updated their listings just yet.
