Rogueside has just revealed that they’re working on a detective-themed visual novel, Best Served Cold, which is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Imagine stepping into an alternate history set in Europe, where you morph from a humble bartender into a savvy detective at The Nightcap, the final speakeasy standing in town. Your job isn’t just about blending cocktails; it’s also about uncovering the secrets that your clientele confide in you, often after a few too many drinks.
Each night, as you lend an ear to your patrons’ tales, you get drawn into a deeper mystery that entangles every aspect of Bukovie’s society. Some nights you’ll entertain the high-spending, tipsy gentlemen splurging on pricey drinks, while on others, you’ll have to navigate interactions with shady cops and dodgy characters trying to pull you into their underhanded dealings. Being quick-witted is key, as you’ll need to decide whether to entice, win over, or even intimidate your patrons to gather the information vital to your case.
The game introduces you to 20 distinct characters, each with their own stories, leaving you to discern whom you can trust and who should be approached with caution. There are five intricate cases you must solve, each demanding sharp attention to detail and thorough interrogation of every potential suspect.
