Kluge Interactive, known for the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, is gearing up to release their new VR fighting game, FINAL FURY. Fans can look forward to its early access launch on Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Set to arrive on Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets on May 8th, Final Fury introduces an arcade-style fighting experience with a twist: a fresh gesture-based gameplay system that revives classic 1v1 action in a virtual reality setting.
The game, built with insights from Justin Wong, a nine-time EVO champion, combines hand gestures with real-world movement. Players can step into the shoes of six distinct fighters, each with their own moves and arenas, with plans for more content following the launch.
"When Kluge Interactive approached me about FINAL FURY, I was intrigued by their idea of combining traditional fighting game elements with a first-person VR experience," Wong shared. "After playing and giving feedback on features like dashes, grabs, and character styles, I’m eager to see how players will dive into the game during its Early Access phase."
Here’s what to expect when the game launches:
You are the Fighter! – Experience fully immersive VR combat with real punches, dodges, and blocks.
Innovative VR Combat – Enjoy nostalgic fighter mechanics reimagined for a physical experience.
Expanding Roster – Start with six fighters, each offering unique abilities, arenas, and styles, with more to come.
Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetic items.
Online Multiplayer – Engage in cross-platform battles featuring rollback netcode for seamless gameplay.
Pulse-Pounding OST – Groove to an original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for his work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Final Fury is available for wishlisting on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, and on Steam for PC VR headsets. Mark your calendar for May 8th and get ready to dive into the action for just $9.99.
