How to Unlock the Flippers
To get the Flippers in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, your journey begins just after completing the "Power Up the Gate" quest. Once the gate is open and you’ve unlocked access to more of the island, make your way to the Swamp region to find Keroppi. He usually strolls around Lilypad Lagoon. Present him with his Welcome Gift, which will then activate the “Finding Flippers” quest for you.
How to Unlock the Snorkel
The Snorkel is your key to exploring the depths beneath the surface. While it appears later in your adventure, acquiring it is a straightforward process, as long as you know how to kickstart the Deep Diving quest. Here’s the secret: once you reach Level 6 in Friendship with Kuromi, the game will automatically introduce you to the Deep Diving quest. Let’s talk about what happens next to complete your gear set.
Swimming Underwater
After securing the Snorkel, you’ll be eager to plunge into any non-shallow water. Once you’re submerged, icons should appear on the right side of your screen indicating the controls for diving.
In our playthrough using a controller, maneuvering is pretty intuitive. The right stick lets you adjust how deep your character dives, while the left allows side-to-side movements. If you’re on a PC, you’ll use the Ctrl and Shift keys to manage your depth, and the arrow keys to slide from side to side.
Bear in mind, once underwater, you’ll have a limited window of time before needing to resurface for air. Your stay beneath the waves is governed by your stamina bar; once it runs out, you’ll automatically head back up. Although it limits your diving depth, it doesn’t cause any harm to your character.
