Back in July, “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” made its debut on the Quest platform through Early Access, offering fans a taste of the game with a single mission and a selection of unlockable blades. It was just a tease, with promises of more content on the horizon. Fast forward to now, and developer UNIVRS has rolled out the ‘Complete Edition’, expanding the adventure to include four chapters.
Reflecting on my experience in July, the game initially felt more like a tech demo than a full-fledged title. It presented a decent slice of gameplay, but with only one chapter and an infinite wave mode where you could chase high scores, it was clear more was needed.
The Complete Edition now introduces players to chapters three and four, as well as an Epilogue and a challenging battle against an Armored Titan boss.
Excitingly, co-op play makes its debut, allowing you to team up with friends to tackle the entire storyline together.
In conjunction with the game’s full release, UNIVRS has also hinted at a ‘Thunder Spear Unlock Event’ set for January. They’re calling it a “global challenge,” and there’s more to come with a free update planned for 2025, as per the information on the game’s website.
While the initial hands-on left me describing the game as somewhat “rough,” fans have found much to enjoy. As of now, “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” boasts a commendable 4.5 out of 5 stars from users on the Horizon Store.
For those who previously purchased the Early Access version, Part 2 is available as a complimentary download. Newcomers can dive in by purchasing Part 1 for $8 and then grab Part 2 for $12 if they wish, or opt for a bundle of both for $20. The game is compatible with Quest 2, Quest 3/S, and Quest Pro.
