Beat Saber, the hit VR rhythm game from 2018, has just released a stunning Metallica music pack that’s sure to excite fans of both the game and the legendary band. This bumper pack brings some of Metallica’s greatest hits into the VR world, making for an electrifying block-slashing experience.
This new Metallica Music Pack stands out as one of the largest and priciest offerings yet, coming in at $20 for a selection of 17 iconic tracks or $2 per individual song. Up until now, Beat Saber’s paid music packs were generally capped at around $15 and typically featured about a dozen tracks.
Yet, with this pack, players are treated to Metallica classics like “Enter Sandman,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Master of Puppets,” all adding up to an impressive 1 hour and 41 minutes of pure rock power.
Here’s the track list in full:
– Atlas, Rise!
– Battery
– Blackened
– Creeping Death
– Enter Sandman
– Fade to Black
– For Whom the Bell Tolls
– Fuel
– Hit the Lights
– King Nothing
– Lux Æterna
– Master of Puppets
– Nothing Else Matters
– One
– Sad But True
– Seek & Destroy
– The Unforgiven
The new tracks come with a specially designed environment that channels the energy of Metallica’s live performances. Think massive metal pillars, elaborate scaffoldings, beams of laser light, fire effects, and dramatic lighting — all working together to immerse you in the music like never before.
Adding to the excitement, developer Beat Games, now under Meta, announced that these tracks feature some of the game’s toughest challenges yet. They’ve also introduced ‘Variable Note Jump Speed,’ a fresh gameplay mechanic that adjusts the speed of blocks based on the song’s intensity, adding a new layer of dynamic action to the game. On top of that, the DLC supports Arc and Chain notes and offers multiplayer support.
Looking ahead, Beat Games plans to integrate the Variable Note Jump Speed feature and a new option for changing block colors into future Beat Saber levels as a standard feature.
For those who don’t yet have Beat Saber, you can pick up the base game along with the Metallica Music Pack at a promotional price of $40 until January 31, 2025. After this date, the bundle will be priced at $45. It’s available for Quest, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets.
