Boston-based game studio, The Molasses Flood, has joined forces with Polish gaming powerhouse CD Projekt Red. The announcement was made through a post on The Molasses Flood’s website, revealing that as of April 1st, the company ceased to exist as a separate entity and is now part of the Cyberpunk 2077 creators. Interestingly, the games The Molasses Flood produced before being acquired by CD Projekt in 2021, such as The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, will remain unaffected by this merger. Currently, the studio is hard at work on Project Sirius, an ambitious multiplayer project set in The Witcher universe.
In a related development, Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, has decided to step away from the studio. Reflecting on this major transition, he shared his thoughts on LinkedIn: “This marks a significant shift for me,” he commented. “For over ten years, TMF was a central part of my journey, and I take pride in contributing to something that endured for so long in an industry that often challenges smaller teams. We created some truly unique and memorable titles, and I had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most talented, kind, and generous individuals in the gaming world.”
