PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are in for a fantastic lineup this year. As things currently stand, four exciting games are set to join the service’s Game Catalog perk upon their release. Among them is Remedy Entertainment’s fresh take on a multiplayer first-person shooter, titled FBC: Firebreak, which has just announced a new launch window for Summer 2025.
FBC: Firebreak takes place in The Oldest House, the iconic headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control and the beloved setting of Remedy’s hit action game, Control. This time around, the developer is shifting gears from their usual narrative-driven storytelling to put a spotlight on exciting gameplay. They’re crafting a live-service experience but are keen to steer clear of the usual FOMO pitfalls that often plague the genre. All the game content will be accessible for free, and players are encouraged to tackle it at their own pace.
The latest trailer gave fans a taste of the Paper Chase Job, just one of the intriguing missions you’ll find in FBC: Firebreak. In this mission, the Firebreak Initiative is tasked with cleaning up a part of The Oldest House overrun by rogue sticky notes. The trailer also offers a sneak peek at the loadouts players will be using to fend off the ever-present Hiss threat.
On launch day, FBC: Firebreak will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Epic Games Store and Steam.
But that’s just part of the fun. As mentioned, FBC: Firebreak is one of four games debuting on the Game Catalog. Also coming our way are Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. The first episode of Lost Records is already available to those with PS Plus Extra and Premium memberships, with the next part planned for release next month.
On top of these new games, PS Plus members can enjoy early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. Right now, subscribers can snag some great deals on titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
