Game Source Entertainment, together with Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT), has excitedly shared news that their rhythm-infused roguelike action game, Ratatan, is set to make its way to the Nintendo Switch.
Positioned as the spiritual follow-up to the much-adored Patapon from Japan Studio and Pyramid, Ratatan transports players to the vibrant island of Rataport. This locale, bustling with life and playfulness, starkly contrasts with the calm expanse of the surrounding sea. Here, an unusual creature named Ratatan joyfully coexists with its friends, the Cobun.
Though these quirky beings differ in looks and personalities, they are united by a singular dream: reaching The Everafter to meet The Goddess, believed to reside there. They are fueled by an unwavering commitment, and no setback will deter them from this quest to greet her someday.
The game benefits from the expertise of Patapon series producer, Hiroyuki Kotani. Players will step into the role of Ratatan and employ magical instruments, synchronizing with the rhythm to issue commands to Cobun armies against adversaries. Success in hitting rhythmic cues triggers Fever Mode, transforming the background music dynamically and prompting characters to engage in unique actions.
Gearing up for its digital launch, Ratatan will be available on the Nintendo eShop for Switch users globally in 2025.
