Eli Roth shared in a statement how passionate he is about VR, having worked with GoPro 360 since 2018. During the pandemic, he realized traditional set visits were out of the question, so he looked for a way to bring fans into the heart of the “Borderlands” experience. Roth wanted everyone to see the intricate sets crafted by the talented art department in Budapest, get a glimpse into the actors’ rehearsal process, and watch Cate Blanchett and Ariana Greenblatt as they perform high-adrenaline stunts like running and jumping off a truck bed that’s falling apart. Collaborating with Light Sail VR resulted in a stunning experience that places viewers in the middle of this chaotic world, giving them a real sense of being on set amidst all the craziness.

In “Borderlands,” Cate Blanchett plays a legendary bounty hunter who returns to her home planet Pandora on a mission to find the missing daughter of the villainous Atlas, portrayed by Edgar Ramírez. Along her journey, she partners with a colorful crew, embarking on a quest to unravel one of Pandora’s greatest mysteries. The film features a star-studded cast including Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis, and it’s set to hit theaters on August 9.
