In Synth Beasts, players step into the shoes, or rather the circuits, of a Synth—a once-failed experiment that has managed to escape from a secretive laboratory on a mysterious island. As you navigate through the surrounding archipelago, you’ll come across other Synths. But don’t expect a warm welcome; these creatures are anything but friendly. Defeating them in combat is your only option. Once victorious, you’ll unlock each as a playable character, granting access to their unique abilities both in battles and in traversing the game world.

In this immersive adventure, battling with your Synths earns them those all-important experience points. As they level up, each of the Synths goes through five stages of progression, gaining distinctive bonuses along the way. As they get stronger, the challenge ramps up. The XP grind becomes tougher, so keep juggling your Synth lineup to fully tap into your team’s capabilities and unveil new skills with fewer XP hurdles!

Take the “Psitek” Synth, for instance—it’s able to ignite torches right away. Reach level three, and it can slash through projectiles with its fiery swipe—a handy tactic for certain dungeon delves. But most of Psitek’s later level perks focus on combat enhancements, so switching to a different Synth might serve you better if you’re looking to quickly unlock fresh abilities!

Early in your journey, you’ll seize control of a boat once used by the ingenious scientists. The sprawling Genesis Archipelago is filled with tiny islands, each concealing secret bonuses like life-extending hearts, power-boosting items, and currency for splurging in shops. Not inclined to explore every nook and cranny? No worries—head straight to the main islands and confront the scientists to disrupt their dubious plans.

Though the main islands house key boss Synths, don’t overlook the optional ones scattered around the archipelago. Capturing every one of the 40-plus Synths is quite a challenge, but those who venture into every corner of the Genesis Archipelago will find their quests richly rewarding!
