Helldivers 2 has just launched its latest addition: the cowboy-themed Warbond, Borderline Justice. Players can now hit the battlefield with a touch of Western flair, taking on bugs and bots as they channel their inner cowboy. However, there’s a notable absence in the new armory—an iconic cowboy hat. No need to worry; PC players have a solution thanks to a resourceful modder.
For those not in the loop, the Borderline Justice Warbond includes a quirky emote where your helldiver can tip their non-existent hat like a true cowboy. This omission hasn’t gone unnoticed, ruffling the feathers of some players who aren’t buying Arrowhead’s lore-based excuse that cowboy hats violate Super Earth’s strict uniform regulations.
But if you’re up for bending a few rules, modder Doomdiverr has come to the rescue. Their newly released mod ‘Hd2 Cow boys helmets’ is currently the only available option to add that much-coveted cowboy hat, at least on Nexus Mods. However, there’s a small trade-off: the mod utilizes the old helmets from the base B-01 armor, which is what you start with right out of Helldiver training, rather than incorporating it into the Borderline Justice collection.
The mod offers four different color options, including classic brown or black, and even lets you add a skull design for a true outlaw vibe. These hats pair well with both the new Borderline Justice outfits and the freshly stocked Democracy’s Deputy armor available in the Super Store.
Just a note, while wearing the modded stetson might look cool, tipping it without encountering some clipping might be tricky. But sometimes, you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth, right?
