Hitman developer IO Interactive has decided to part ways with mixed martial artist Conor McGregor. This announcement arrived via Twitter shortly after a civil case concluded, where McGregor faced accusations of rape and the ruling was in favor of the woman who filed the complaint. IO Interactive expressed that it could not overlook the consequences stemming from the court’s decision.
McGregor had previously made an appearance in The Disruptor DLC for the Hitman series. In their statement, IO Interactive mentioned, “Given the recent ruling against Conor McGregor, we’ve opted to immediately end our association with him. We hold this situation with utmost seriousness and recognize the weight it carries.”
As a result, the removal of all McGregor-related content from their digital stores commenced on the same day.
