Minisforum has just unveiled its upcoming lineup of AMD Ryzen-powered devices, including an exciting new MoTD and Mini PC that integrate the cutting-edge Ryzen 9 9955HX “Fire Range” CPU.
### New AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX “Fire Range” Products
At the “Japan IT Spring Week,” Minisforum took center stage to reveal a fresh wave of innovative products harnessing AMD Ryzen CPUs. Among these are MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, Mini PCs, and NAS systems.
#### Minisforum F1FGM MoTD Motherboard
The first product in the spotlight is the Minisforum “F1FGM,” an evolution of their MoTD line. This motherboard boasts a sleek mATX design, complete with efficient heatsinks on the VRMs, M.2 slots, PCH, and even an IO cover. It stands as the successor to the BD770i and BD790i series, which featured Dragon Range “Ryzen 7000HX” CPUs. Now, it’s all about the Fire Range “Ryzen 9000HX” series CPUs.
Users can equip the MoTD with the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads grounded in the Zen 5 architecture. This chip can reach boost speeds of up to 5.4 GHz and includes a robust 64 MB of L3 cache. Normally rated at 55W, this desktop-grade “mobile” chip can be fine-tuned to a whopping 160W on this motherboard, delivering a top-tier user experience.
This board also supports other CPUs, including an “X3D” option. Cooling is managed with a cooler mounted atop a vapor chamber baseplate since the mobile CPUs lack an IHS. The VRM features a 13-Phase Duet rail design with 60A SPS power stages.
Specifications-wise, the motherboard is furnished with four DDR5 DIMM slots in the typical UDIMM layout, supporting up to 256 GB and impressive speeds up to 8000. The chipset used is the mobile-grade X870M, similar to the B850 series. It’s equipped with two PCIe slots (5.0 x16 & 4.0 x16), three M.2 slots, one of which is Gen5x4, two SATA III ports, and advanced IO options like USB4, 5GbE LAN, and WIFI7. Additionally, there are two BIOS DEBUG LEDs.
#### Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC
Next up is the Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC, which also makes use of the AMD Ryzen 9000HX “Fire Range” CPUs. Expanding on the MS-A1 series that featured Ryzen 8000G CPUs, these Mini PCs are designed with advanced IO solutions, such as three M.2 slots (including one U.2-capable), 10 GbE LAN through an SFP+ port, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot for low-profile cards.
Unlike the MoTD, the motherboard in the Mini PC has two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 96 GB and 5200 MT/s speeds. Connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 2, a USB 2.0, two 10 GbE LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, and both DP+HDMI outputs.
#### Minisforum N5 PRO NAS
Lastly, Minisforum introduces the Strix-powered “N5 PRO” NAS, with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, featuring 12 cores, 24 threads, and the Radeon 890M iGPU. This NAS supports up to five 3.5-inch bays, configurable in RAID, and utilizes a toolless design for easy drive management. It offers up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs and sports a single PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for video interface solutions.
Each drive bay can accommodate up to 22 TB, complemented by three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (2x Gen4x1 and 1x Gen4x2). The interface includes a 10 GbE and a 5 GbE Ethernet port, with IO comprising three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
Be on the lookout for these cutting-edge solutions from Minisforum in the months ahead. More information will be available soon.
