There’s a buzz in the air about Fortnite possibly dropping more Metal Gear content soon, likely to coincide with the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The Metal Gear series made its debut in Fortnite during Chapter 5, Season 1 back in January 2024.
A well-known Fortnite leaker hints at this exciting possibility of further Metal Gear collaboration. Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers, bringing in characters from iconic franchises across films, comics, and video games. From Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft to Kratos from God of War, even the Doom Slayer has made his appearance on the Island.
The groundbreaking Metal Gear series, brainchild of Hideo Kojima, joined Fortnite’s ranks last January, as part of Chapter 5, Season 1. The so-called “Sneaking Set” allowed gamers to play as Solid Snake and Raiden, complemented by a host of themed items like Pickaxes, Back Blings, Gliders, and Emoticons. This collaboration has left fans eager for more between Fortnite and Konami, with rumors swirling about new Metal Gear content arriving soon.
The prolific Fortnite leaker, Shiina, noted via Redditor KvasirTheOld on r/GamingLeaksandRumours, that another Metal Gear crossover might be on the horizon. Details remain sparse, but speculation is rife that it could tie in with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, potentially featuring skins of Naked Snake/Big Boss, Eva, or even The Boss. Other fans are hoping for appearances by Raiden’s cyborg incarnation from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, or perhaps Quiet from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a modern remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, telling the tale of Naked Snake, aka Big Boss, on a tense mission within the jungle to thwart a Soviet superweapon. After much anticipation, its release date has now been set for August 28, 2025. A Fortnite tie-in could serve as perfect promo material for Konami, though it’s worth noting this is all speculative at present.
In the meantime, another Fortnite leak suggests that Fast and Furious stars Dom Toretto and Han Lue may be speeding into Fortnite, alongside whispers of a new Iron Man variant and characters inspired by the Avatar movies.
