Resident Evil 4 Remake, the action horror game, has hit an impressive milestone, selling over 10 million copies. This success was announced by Capcom on their investor relations page, highlighting that this installment is the fastest-selling title in the entire Resident Evil franchise.
Released in March 2023, Resident Evil 4 Remake has captured the hearts of both new players and longtime fans by maintaining the essence of the original while offering a refreshed gameplay experience. Capcom noted the game’s widespread acclaim from both critics and players, resulting in numerous global awards and bolstering its ongoing sales momentum.
In addition to this, Capcom shared that Resident Evil 7 from 2017 and Resident Evil 2 from 2019 have collectively sold more than 15 million copies. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village has surpassed 11 million in sales, and the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3 has also moved over 10 million units.
Capcom attributes this widespread success to a robust back catalog strategy. Overall, the Resident Evil series has achieved sales of over 167 million copies since it first launched in 1996.
