Second Major Story DLC for Frontiers of Pandora Released

Secrets of the Spires, the latest DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, has finally arrived for players owning the Season Pass. This update offers some exciting new features, including additional achievements, an expanded map, and a fresh storyline. It’s a significant content boost that could enhance its appeal as a top contender among open-world games on Xbox.

Released after a brief delay, Secrets of the Spires marks the second major story expansion for those with the Season Pass. Spanning a hefty 17.5GB on the Xbox Series X|S, the DLC introduces the Spires of the Clouded Forest, complete with new skills, equipment, and a storyline that expands on the core game. For those eager to dive into new content, you can jump right into this DLC without finishing the main narrative first.

Ubisoft teases, “Engage in thrilling aerial skirmishes in the majestic Spires of the Clouded Forest, a stunningly crafted mountainous terrain in Pandora’s Western Frontier. Experience the freedom of flight on your ikran as you explore uncharted territories.”

Players will have the opportunity to thwart RDA convoys using enhanced ikran skills and a newly introduced mounted weapon. Team up with a reclusive Na’vi clan to combat an emerging RDA menace. The region’s towering cliffs and hidden caverns offer plenty of surprises and challenges.

There are five fresh achievements to unlock in Secrets of the Spires. Here’s a closer look at what the update brings:

The new map area, Spires of the Clouded Forest, offers gamers a brand-new campaign, side quests, and other engaging activities. You’ll journey through new environments such as the Tangled Peaks and Splintered Arches while forging a deeper connection with your ikran through new skills and gear. In addition, you’ll face new aerial threats, encounter diverse flora and fauna, and uncover innovative methods for exploration and resource gathering.

Progression updates across all platforms now allow you to use skill points to unlock various new abilities for your ikran, like Ikran Smash and Flares. PlayStation 5 Pro users will enjoy enhanced features, with the game running at 60 FPS in Quality Mode, improved resolution, and the integration of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for better visuals and performance.

There are a few known issues, including some affecting PC players on Windows 11 24H2. Ubisoft is working on a temporary fix and promises updates soon. Meanwhile, there are several minor bugs across platforms, such as delayed map icons and in-game menu inconsistencies, which are being addressed.
