Hello everyone, I’m Yasuyuki Oda, the mind behind Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Together with the development team, I’m excited to give you a sneak peek into how you can maximize the REV System to outsmart even the fiercest adversaries. We’ll delve into some impressive combos you can master, and I’ll also outline what we’ve got planned with the Season 1 Pass downloadable content. So without further ado, let’s dive right in and get you ready to conquer the world of Fatal Fury!
Master the REV System for an Edge
The secret to shifting the battle in your favor lies in mastering the REV System. With REV Arts, you can supercharge your special moves, and REV Accel is the perfect tool for crafting those jaw-dropping combos that will keep your opponent on the back foot. You can also employ the REV System defensively with the REV Guard button (R1), letting you fend off attacks and boost your chances of victory. REV Guard activates with a single button press, making it a handy tactic whenever you sense your opponent going for a cross-up. It’s particularly effective against moves like Kain’s Schwarzes Rondo setups or when B. Jenet is about to break her Gulf Tomahawk. While using REV Guard, you’re free to input other actions, like initiating a grab to counter an opponent’s attempt or hopping to escape a tricky situation. Make it a point to use REV Guard when waking up in battle to shield yourself.
Epic Combos at Your Fingertips
To showcase some thrilling combos, we’re bringing back fan-favorites Mai Shiranui, Rock Howard, and Terry Bogard. Each has a guide to take you through some high-caliber moves. Perfect these, and you’ll be ready to take on friends or global challengers online.
Mai Shiranui’s Combo: Start with a close Neutral HK, shift into Feint, then execute a close Neutral HP. Follow that with a HP Hana Arashi (brake), and move into REV Ryuuenbu with REV Sayo Chidori. Next, hit a HK Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi (brake), followed by REV Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi transitioning into REV Hana Arashi (brake), and finish with Kagerou no Mai.
Rock Howard’s Combo: Begin with a close Neutral HK, proceed with a forward Feint, and down HP. Engage REV Hard Edge into REV Rage Run Type: Layup, then a HP Rising Tackle (brake). From there, go into HP Reppuu Ken, perform a REV Rising Tackle into REV Shippuu Ken, and conclude with Raging Storm.
Terry Bogard’s Combo: Kick off with a close Neutral HP into forward HP, then a forward Feint, followed by a far Neutral HP. Use REV Burning Knuckle, continue with REV Crack Shoot, then HK Power Dunk (brake). Carry on with REV Power Charge, REV Burning Wave, and REV Power Dunk. Just before landing, execute REV Blow, and finish with Cosmic Strike Geyser.
Unveiling Season Pass 1 Characters
Kicking off our Season 1 Pass, we have Terry Bogard’s sibling, Andy Bogard, making a grand comeback. Andy mixes Koppo with ninjutsu to defeat his foes. If you’re eager to play Andy, you can start training with Hokutomaru, who shares some of Andy’s moves, to gear up for his release later this year.
Joining him is Joe Higashi, a master of Muay Thai, renowned for his friendly yet fiery demeanor during battles. Joe, along with Terry and Andy, form the iconic trio from Fatal Fury, so expect a big celebration among fans when Joe joins the fray this Fall.
Continuing the exciting lineup, Mr. Big, the formidable antagonist from the Art of Fighting series, returns with his unique blend of bojutsu and street fighting skills to challenge South Town’s warriors.
Rounding up the guest appearances are none other than Ken and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series, set to spice up the crossover action in Fatal Fury’s universe.
