Sonic Set to Debut with Nintendo Switch 2 on Launch Day

Did you manage to secure a pre-order for the Nintendo Switch 2 last night or early this morning? If you’re among the fortunate ones, there’s exciting news: Sonic is making a splash on launch day. SEGA has just revealed that "SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS" will be available on June 5th.

Sonic will be joining Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S as launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. You can now pre-order both physical and digital copies of these games.

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS – Take on the role of Shadow in an all-new story campaign, showcasing fresh abilities that highlight why he’s the Ultimate Life Form! This game also features a fully remastered version of the beloved Sonic Generations, a thrilling time-travel adventure packed with classic 3D and 2D Sonic stages. Enjoy enhanced visuals and new bonus content.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S – Brace yourself for the electrifying puzzle action in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S! Dive into the new “Puyo Tetris Doubles” mode, where 2v2 battles allow pairs to team up on a single board for massive combos. Explore various local and online modes supporting up to four players, and choose from a lineup of 40 characters, each with unique stats and abilities, including Sonic the Hedgehog.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut – Experience the ultimate edition of the renowned origin story from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza series, optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2! This version adds unseen story cutscenes, an exciting “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode to team up with pals against enemy waves, and features voiceovers in English and Chinese, with subtitles in French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.

You can also place pre-orders for "RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army," which hits stores on June 19. Later this year, Two Point Museum will join the lineup.
