Today marks an exciting milestone as the Video Game History Foundation opens the doors to its digital library of research materials, available now in early access. At its debut, the library boasts an impressive collection of more than 1,500 out-of-print video game magazines, all text-searchable. These include rare editions rarely accessible to the public. Alongside these are previously unseen game development documents, artwork, press kits, promotional items, and much more.

Among the highlights of this launch are the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. Not long ago, we had the privilege of accessing selected items from the Mark Flitman collection, which played a significant part in creating our Star Fox 30th anniversary documentary. It also enhanced our in-depth exploration of Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. Both of these projects were collaborative efforts with the Video Game History Foundation. On the other hand, the Cyan collection is packed with over 100 hours of footage from the making of the iconic Myst series.
