Asian triple-A outsourcing powerhouse, Winking Studios, has announced its acquisition of China’s Mineloader. This strategic move is valued at £16.3 million, which translates to approximately $19.87 million. The financial arrangement includes an immediate payment of $14.7 million, while the balance will be spread out over the next five years, contingent on Mineloader’s achievement of specific performance goals.
Founded back in 2003, Mineloader has carved out its niche as a leading art outsourcing developer. Speaking on this development, Winking Studios’ CEO and founder, Johnny Jan, expressed his excitement. “This is our largest acquisition so far, representing a significant leap in our standing within the global video game industry. It brings fresh opportunities for growth and innovation,” he stated.
Johnny Jan highlighted the critical role of game art in the development process. It’s what players see and interact with, shaping their overall gaming experience. Mineloader, with its strong track record and deep expertise in game art, will undoubtedly enhance Winking Studios’ capabilities in this domain. The addition of over 460 employees from Mineloader, combined with Winking Studios’ existing team of more than 800, will expand their service offerings and attract new clients. Moreover, Mineloader’s established foothold in the Japanese market is expected to amplify Winking Studios’ business networks significantly.
