With the latest update, Xbox Insiders now have the exciting ability to stream their personally owned games on console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, right alongside a collection of top-tier Game Pass titles. While the lineup of compatible games hasn’t expanded yet, those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can now stream selected titles on both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Microsoft has announced improvements to Xbox Cloud Gaming specifically for Xbox Insiders. Members in the alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview groups now have access to stream their owned games, not just on consoles but also on PCs, smartphones, and tablets across 28 countries. This feature requires an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Though console streaming wasn’t anticipated until next year, this update comes as a pleasant surprise for many. If you’re among those testing this new feature, you’ll notice a cloud gaming badge appearing on supported games in your Xbox library. Additionally, you can filter your games by “Ready to play” and “Cloud gaming” to easily access compatible titles.
Microsoft shared that future plans include enabling game launches directly from the Store app and streaming within the Xbox app on Windows PCs. Initially introduced last month, Game Pass Ultimate members could stream some owned games through web browsers. Currently, the list consists of 50 supported games, featuring popular titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
We’re eagerly anticipating a broader rollout of this feature to all users, hopefully by 2025. What about you? Are you excited to stream your favorite Xbox Series X|S games via Xbox Cloud Gaming? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to share them with us!
