Rebellion is gearing up to launch the very first VR game in the Zombie Army series, promising to inject some co-op campaign excitement into top virtual reality (VR) headsets as soon as next month.
Scheduled for release on May 22nd, Zombie Army VR will be available for headsets like the Quest 2 and above, PSVR 2, and SteamVR. This new addition invites players into the chaotic world of zombie-slaying mayhem, recruiting them into the elite Deadhunters squad to tackle the apocalypse head-on.
Rebellion has outlined an action-packed journey that takes gamers through the zombie-infested ruins of Nuremberg. The mission? Aid Captain Hermann Wolff, the renowned leader of the Deadhunters, in his quest to reunite with his family and rid Europe of the undead onslaught.
Offering a gripping, story-filled campaign, the game is designed for solo adventurers and those who thrive in two-player co-op mode. Players can expect to find a realistic array of World War II firearms, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols. The twist? You can dual-wield and manually handle these iconic weapons, adding another layer of strategy and excitement.
As you dive into the chaos, you’ll have the chance to level up your Deadhunter with experience points, giving you the edge to modify your weapons with upgrades for better range, accuracy, scope, and ammo capacity. But brace yourself—besides battling your run-of-the-mill Nazi zombies, you’ll face franchise fan-favorites like Armored Giants, Suiciders, and Sniper Zombies. Plus, just like in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR from 2021, the thrilling X-ray Kill Cam is back, letting you relish your long-ranged take-downs in mesmerizing slow motion.
If you’re ready to dive into this undead adventure, Zombie Army VR is already open for pre-orders. Head over to the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and up, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, or Steam for PC VR headsets. And to sweeten the deal, the game is currently offered at a 10% discount, reducing its usual $30 price tag for early birds.
